Background
At the end of 2022, Bugaboo approached Buggy Pitstop to assist in expanding their UK refurbishment programme. Having already developed a successful refurbishment operation in the Netherlands, Bugaboo sought a reliable and experienced UK partner to manage returns and support their growing warranty repair service. This partnership aimed to reduce waste, improve turnaround times and maintain Bugaboo's high-quality standards across markets.
The challenge
Bugaboo had successfully established a refurbishment and RMA returns process using Excel spreadsheets, which suited their operational needs at the time. When expanding their UK returns programme, they sought a trusted partner to manage refurbishment and handle RMA cases efficiently after items were sent from DSV. Buggy Pitstop initially worked within this framework, and through collaboration, we identified opportunities to enhance the process by moving beyond Excel's limitations to deliver greater accuracy and scalability.
Our solution
Buggy Pitstop collaborated closely with Bugaboo's team, including Rolf Smeding (former Business Development Director), to integrate the refurbishment and warranty processes into our systems. Due to third-party access limitations with the existing Excel setup, we transitioned the returns and refurbishment workflows into our bespoke CRM system.
- Custom CRM module to upload, track and manage RMA cases.
- Bugaboo-branded replacement labels for refurbished chassis — replacing serial numbers, SKUs and item codes.
- Automated label printing, storage tracking, job completion logging by refurbishment grade, and invoicing — reducing manual errors and improving operational efficiency.
